Platinum Media Consulting is a small North London based publishing company, which publishes the Official British Comedy Awards magazine, Mini-Kin (an early years foundation stage magazine, 250k copies were distributed with the Guardian in Feb 2015), the Home Movers Pack & Obese Britain Magazine.

While Job Seeking I volunteered my time to help start a Bowel Cancer Support Charity.  After I was introduced to the founder of the charity (through a mutual friend) and hearing about the tragic loss of his young wife (hence the reason he wanted to start a charity) I decided to use my spare time while Job Seeking to him help start Bowel Cancer Support UK. I project managed and created the website and social network, designed promotional material such as flyers, posters, donation forms etc… and even provided marketing advice on how to best expand on brand awareness and online exposure.

GloTIME.tv is a new startup online multimedia channel, headed by Sylvia Anderson (of Thunderbird fame). I developed, launched and managed the channel which was created to showcase new talent, and also to serve as a platform to launch Sylvia’s new family science fiction show “The Last Station” (which I also helped project manage). My duties on the show included character design, concept art and plot development.

  • Major website redesign
    Over the last 2 years I have redesigned all of EMP’s websites, bringing the web design in-house has saved the company ten’s of thousands of pounds not only in creation but also maintenance.
  • Newsletter Design
    I have been in charge of creating the new look and feel of the company’s newsletters, which has been done to increase click through rates. I am also in charge of subscriber database management.
  • Infomercials
    Four years ago me and one of the sales managers created a new revenue stream for the company – INFOMERCIALS. These were Flash micro-sites which we would showcase on our At Home site, all designed by me. This was a successful product which, when sold together with a print / online advertising package increased the value by thousands of pounds.
  • Celebrity Videos
    EMP publishes a range of lifestyle magazines, from parenting to health and fashion. There is always a celebrity guest editor which we feature with our own photo-shoots. I approached the editor with the idea to record a short interview for the website. Edited by me, these videos were used to promote the brand, the sale of the magazine and it also added extra credibility for the sales department.
  • Tech Support
    I have always enjoyed helping people, I also have a deep understanding of both Mac and PC software and hardware, when a job opportunity opened up in tech-support I was put forward as the ideal candidate. Bringing the technical support in-house has not only saved the company money but also increased productivity, as problems were dealt with more quickly and efficiently. My crowning achievement in this field is implementing a cloud based email system (Google Apps for Business) company wide.
